I grew up surrounded by art and storytelling. Living in that environment encouraged me to pursue a life in a field where I can create something every day. I love bringing a character to life through clothing, and I go about designing costumes with this same mentality. I carry this history with me when approaching my work.
 

When I begin working on a show the first thing I like to do is think about each of the characters and how they see themselves and the world around them, what story would they want me to tell about them? I feel that I have accomplished my goal when I see the actors up on stage and feel that they have disappeared and their character has become fully realized. 

 

When people see my work I want them to feel they too are a part of the character’s world. I am proud to continue the age-old tradition of storytelling through my efforts, building upon my history.
